A Matter of Trust

A Matter of Trust is the second book in the Bluford Series. It takes place three months after the events of Lost & Found. The story further explores Hakeem and Darcy's relationship, explains how Brisana felt about Darcy's new friends, and introduces Roylin Bailey.

The story starts at Bluford High where we discover that Hakeem is very shy and stutters, it also reveals Roylin's character as a bully, because he constantly ridicules Hakeem's stutter.
Darcy, who we found out is in a more intimate relationship with Hakeem, notices Brisana is trying to steal Hakeem from her.

Later, Tarah had a birthday party and invites all of her friends excluding Roylin and the group of troubled kids. When they get to the party, Roylin shows up uninvited and starts teasing Hakeem's stutter. Hakeem then steps out of his character and is then blinded by rage and strikes Roylin. With everyone distracted they didn't notice a car pulling up. the miscreants then proceeded to opening fire on the gathering and a stray bullet grazed Roylin.

After Hakeem and Darcy visit Roylin in the hospital and find out he's going to live, Darcy finds out that Roylin is a bully because his father constantly beat him as a child.

The next day, Darcy confronted Brisana, Brisana then proceeds to admitting she still wanted to be friends with Brisana. Tarah then convinces Darcy to try to mend Their relationship.
The story then ends with Darcy walking in on her parents having a tremendous spat.
